Flame Arrestor or flash back arrestor is a device to stop or arrest or prevent the return of the flame, which can result in an explosion, fatal accident or disaster. Due to our bad luck, if the LPG gas cylinder flame is returned to the regulator and cylinder, can we imagine the consequences? same is the case with industries where large storage tanks need protection from the back fire of flame from burners to the storage areas through pipelines. So, it is always beneficial to stop or arrest the return of flame by a device called Flame Arrestor.
Two types of flame arrestors are in the market, dry type and wet type. In wet type arrestors, the sealing is done by the help of liquid. In dry type flame arrestors, the sealing is done by the help of dry material such as perforated discs, ceramic cartridge or sintered metal.
During the development of industrial burners, a need was felt by Dandekar Industries to develop dry type falme arrestor to cater to the needs of specific customers.
Our arrestor has an unique advantage. Due to cone or dome shape construction, the gas is converted into liquid from due to condensation which helps to reduce losses.
Application
In order to prevent explosion disaster, the device must be fitted on vent valves, open vent pipes of petroleum or inflammable storage tanks, suction/delivery pipelines, acetylene generators and process piping system. Some of the applications are:
On exhaust pipeline of an automobile before silencer.
Between gas stove and LPG cylinder regulator in domestic use. eg kitchen, hotels etc.
On open vent pipes of any inflammable storage tanks such as petrol, HSD, kerosene.
On the suction side of fuel line on any industrial furnace burner.
