We are very much pleased to put before you some words about your experience and performance in the field of catering.
Since the inception of this restaurant, it became a very popular joint among the local and touring folks on Mumbai-Pune highway. Our restaurant is situated at Khopoli touching Mumbai Pune Highway. The Bor-ghat starts from Khopoli. Before climbing the ghat there is a natural need to have a brief halt for giving respite to the vehicles. Therefore all the vehicles used to halt in front of the hotel. This proved to be a great advantage to our establishment for getting valuable customers; during the years of 1936 to 1950. No traffic was allowed in the Bor-ghat section during the night. All the vehicles reaching khopoli in the evening used to halt overnight and therefore it was of great advantage to the Hotel. The passengers halting over-night wre provided with the powder made of tobacco or salt for cleaning their teeth. Those who wanted to take bath were also provided with the hot water. The restaurant had appointed one barber on monthly salary for giving a clean shave to the visiting customer free of cost. Vehicle owners were assisted by providing them mechanical help, messenger service, car towing facility and some times in case of family, accomodation was made available free of cost.
