As legal executive, legal manager and then as general manager of Godrej Soaps Limited, he was responsible for the legal functions for Godrej Soaps and its then subsidiaries/group companies. He attended to and sucessfully tackled, resolved and provided solutions in various areas like excise, customs, food adulteration, drugs and cosmetics, company law, MRTP, Industries Act, Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, Labour Law, Intellectual Property rights. He also played a major role in framing the policies especially on indirect taxes and other related areas. He was also instrumental in strategising and implementation of the legal aspects relating to acquiring new businesses, mergers and other such activities of the company. Apart from this, he was also appearing in tribunals and before quasi-judicial authorities on behalf of all the companies; and conducted the cases before courts, by effectively interacting with the Attorneys, cousels.

In the past 15 years of being in profession, he has specialised in the areas of Central Excise and customs, writs arising out of excise and customs issues, appeals to supreme court, suits in the high court, summary suits, arbitrations, food adulteration matters, consumer protection, cases relating to bouncing of cheques, issues relating to standards of weights and measures, drugs and cosmetics act, intellectual property rights, information technology law, winding up petitions under company law etc.,
